Bonus terms, in plain English

Welcome offer: Bet $5, get $150 in bonus bets (most states)

In October 2026, DraftKings' standard welcome offer is "bet $5, get $150 in bonus bets", credited after your first qualifying wager in most legal states.[1] Some sources list bigger combined packages with casino offers. Bonus bets are non-withdrawable and expire — usually within seven days.

Our guide to free bets and odds boosts explains how to value bonus bets properly.

DraftKings is FanDuel's great rival — and in reach, it's number one: around 27 states plus DC in autumn 2026, more than any other US sportsbook. Founded in 2012 as a fantasy sports company, it's now a listed giant with a sportsbook, an online casino, a lottery app and a prediction market.

Markets and live betting

DraftKings' menu is enormous: every major US league plus soccer, tennis, golf, MMA, motorsports and niche sports. Player props are a particular strength, especially for NFL and NBA games, and its same-game parlays (SGP and "SGPx" across games) are popular. Live betting is extensive, and cash out is available on most bets.

Odds and value

Like FanDuel, DraftKings mostly uses −110 on spreads and totals. It's competitive on mainstream sides and runs daily profit boosts, but sharp bettors will often find better numbers at bet365 or low-margin international books. Check any line with our no-vig calculator.

Payments and payouts

DraftKings accepts deposits from $5 via PayPal, Venmo, debit cards, online banking, Play+, Apple Pay and cash at partner casinos. PayPal, Venmo and Play+ are usually the fastest withdrawal methods.

App and support

The app is feature-packed — live scores, stats, boosts, rewards — and highly rated, though new bettors may find it busy. Support runs through live chat, email and a detailed help centre.

Safety and responsible gambling

DraftKings is licensed by each state regulator and publicly listed. It offers deposit, spending and time limits, cooling-off and self-exclusion, and a "My Stats" history to track wins and losses honestly.

How to sign up at DraftKings

  1. Download the DraftKings sportsbook app (iOS or Android) or open the site while you're in a legal state.
  2. Register with your legal name, date of birth, address and the last four digits of your SSN — 21+ in almost every state.
  3. Allow location access; the app checks you're inside the state before every bet.
  4. Opt in to the welcome offer (or enter a promo code if your state's offer uses one).
  5. Deposit at least $5 by PayPal, Venmo, debit card or online banking.
  6. Place your qualifying bet, then set deposit and time limits in your account.

DraftKings Sportsbook: our verdict

DraftKings offers the most of everything: states, markets, props and promotions. Its pricing is standard rather than sharp, and the sheer volume of offers needs discipline. As a main or second account, it's excellent.
