Rainbow Six Siege launched in 2015 with modest expectations and grew into one of esports' most enduring tactical shooters. In 2025 Ubisoft relaunched it as Siege X, and the competitive scene has kept growing.
The Brazilian era
For years, Brazilian teams like FURIA, w7m and others set the standard, with huge home fanbases and a deep talent pipeline. Brazilian rosters still lead — FaZe Clan's Brazilian line-up won back-to-back Six Invitationals and the 2026 Esports World Cup without dropping a series — but North American and European teams such as DarkZero (Salt Lake City Major champions) can beat anyone on their day.
The Six Invitational
R6's world championship, the Six Invitational, traditionally held each February, remains the biggest event in the game, alongside seasonal Majors.
2026: FaZe in Paris
At the 2026 Esports World Cup in Paris, FaZe Clan beat FURIA 3–1 to win a 22-team, $2 million event, with DarkZero third.[1] It was a statement win in Siege X's competitive era.
What it means for bettors
Even with FaZe setting the pace, favourites are less safe than in some esports: maps are long, rounds are close and overtime is common. Use map knowledge, check rosters after relaunch changes and compare prices. More: R6 betting and FaZe's EWC win.
