The Summoner's Cup is the trophy every League of Legends Worlds champion lifts. The name comes from the game's setting, where players are called summoners, and it is the prize for the Worlds winner each November. This page covers where the trophy came from, how it has changed and what it weighs today. For the prize money that comes with it, see our LoL Worlds prize pool page.

Who made the Summoner's Cup?

Riot Games, which owns League of Legends, commissioned the cup.[1] Reporting from 2014, cited by Wikipedia, says Riot specified a weight of about 70 pounds (32 kg), but the finished trophy was made lighter so winners could lift it.[1]

The cups for the 2012 and 2014 championships were made by the silversmiths Thomas Lyte.[1]

The 2022 Tiffany & Co. redesign

In August 2022, Riot announced a multi-year partnership with Tiffany & Co. to design a new Summoner's Cup, first used at Worlds 2022 in the United States.[1][2] That version weighed about 44 pounds (20 kg).[1]

It was the Worlds 2022 final in San Francisco where DRX beat T1 3–2, so DRX were the first team to lift the Tiffany-designed cup.

The 2025 version: lighter and closer to the original

For Worlds 2025, Riot redesigned the cup again. The new version moved back towards the original look and halved the weight to about 22 pounds (10 kg), which Wikipedia notes makes it easier for the winning team to lift.[1][3] That is the figure Wikipedia gives for the Summoner's Cup today.[1]

T1 were the first team to lift that cup, after beating KT Rolster 3–2 in Chengdu.
