How many people watch LoL Worlds? It depends on who is counting. The numbers you see online come from two different methods, and they are an order of magnitude apart. Here are the figures from Esports Charts, the tracker that measures every edition the same way, and what the larger totals mean.
Worlds peak viewers by year (Esports Charts)
Peak concurrent viewers, hours watched and average viewers. Esports Charts counts the platforms it can track, and its pages for these editions list no Chinese platform.[1][2][3][4]
| Year | Final | Peak viewers | Hours watched | Average viewers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | T1 vs KT Rolster, Chengdu | 6,752,585 | 132.9 million | 1,494,960 |
| 2024 | T1 vs Bilibili Gaming, London | 6,941,610 | 185.9 million | 1,692,922 |
| 2023 | T1 vs Weibo Gaming, Seoul | 6,402,760 | 142.8 million | 1,224,907 |
| 2022 | DRX vs T1, San Francisco | 5,147,701 | 138.5 million | 963,348 |
The 2024 final holds the record on every measure in this table: 6.94 million peak viewers, 185.9 million hours watched and about 1.69 million average viewers.[1]
The 2025 final in Chengdu was a 3–2 against KT Rolster and peaked slightly lower, at about 6.75 million.[2] It also had fewer hours of airtime: Esports Charts lists about 89 hours for 2025 against about 110 for 2024.
The 2023 record
When T1 beat Weibo Gaming 3–0 in Seoul in 2023, the peak of about 6.4 million was reported at the time as the highest for any esports event, not counting Chinese viewership.[3][6] Esports Charts has since put the 2024 and 2025 finals above it.
Why Wikipedia's numbers are so much bigger
You may have seen figures like 99.6 million (2018 final) or more than 100 million (2019 final).[6] The 2018 figure is described as unique viewers, meaning everyone who watched at any point, not the number watching at once. That is a different measurement from peak concurrent viewers.
| Metric | What it counts | Typical size |
|---|---|---|
| Peak concurrent viewers | The most people watching at one moment | Millions |
| Hours watched | Total time spent watching | Hundreds of millions |
| Unique viewers | Everyone who watched at any point | Tens of millions to 100 million+ |
Wikipedia also quotes much larger peak figures for years before 2022. The sources behind them don't say whether Chinese platforms are included, so we don't line them up against Esports Charts' counts.
Worlds 2026 so far
Esports Charts' listing for Worlds 2026 (as of 22 October, during the Play-In and early Swiss stage) shows a peak of about 1.02 million viewers and about 14.9 million hours watched.[5] The tracker's headline from the Play-In credits Karmine Corp, the French team, with helping to double French peak viewership. Final numbers will arrive after the 14 November final in Brooklyn.
