Viewership is esports' scoreboard off the server. Here are 2026's biggest audiences so far — with Worlds and the PGL Major still to come.

Two different kinds of number get quoted, and they can't go in one ranking: peak viewers (the most people watching at the same moment, measured by trackers like Esports Charts) and total viewers or hours watched reported by organisers. We list them separately.

Biggest peaks of 2026 (to early October)

Peak concurrent viewers as tracked by Esports Charts.[3][4] Tracker figures usually leave out Chinese platforms, so treat them as indicative.

RankEventGamePeak viewers
1M7 World Championship (January)Mobile Legends~5.68 million
2MPL Indonesia Season 17Mobile Legends~2.95 million
3Mid Season Cup (MSC), at the EWCMobile Legends~2.89 million
4IEM Cologne Major (June)CS2~2.75 million
5Mid-Season Invitational (MSI)League of Legends~2.32 million
6The International 2026Dota 2~1.80 million
7PUBG Mobile World CupPUBG Mobile~1.79 million
8EWC League of LegendsLeague of Legends~1.48 million

Mobile Legends dominates: three of the top three peaks, driven by huge audiences in Indonesia and the Philippines. See MLBB: the giant esport the West doesn't watch. The IEM Cologne Major was CS2's record-breaker and helped Counter-Strike overtake League of Legends in the first half of the year.

At the Esports World Cup itself, Dplus KIA's 3–0 win over Karmine Corp made League of Legends the most-watched PC title of the event (about 1.48 million peak, ahead of CS2 at about 1.04 million). The Overwatch World Cup 2026, won by South Korea, broke the series' peak-viewer record from 2017, though it didn't reach this top table.[2]

Totals reported by organisers

The Esports World Cup organisers reported 850 million total viewers and 440 million hours watched across the seven-week Paris event.[1] That's the EWC's own count across all 25 tournaments and platforms — a different, cumulative measure that can't be compared with the peaks above.

Still to come

LoL Worlds (final 14 November) usually tops the year for PC esports, and the PGL Major Singapore in December will be CS2's biggest audience. Follow Worlds 2026 and PGL Major Singapore.
