How esports contracts work
Same as any event contract: Will Team Vitality beat Team Spirit? "Yes" pays $1 if they win. Markets cover match winners, and for bigger events map winners, series scores and tournament winners. You can sell mid-series if the match turns. Read esports event contracts for the full story of how the category exploded in 2026.
What you can trade
| Contract | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Match winner | "Will Vitality beat Spirit?" | The most liquid market |
| Map winner | "Will FaZe win map 1?" | Big events only |
| Series score | "Will T1 win 3–1?" | Thinner liquidity |
| Tournament winner | "Who wins Worlds 2026?" | Long-dated; money tied up |
League of Legends has its own guide: LoL prediction markets covers Polymarket and Kalshi's LoL contracts, Worlds 2026 prices and how they compare with bookmaker odds.
How big is it?
In the first week of June 2026, Kalshi's esports contracts traded about $36 million across 408 matches, with CS2 about two-thirds of it — driven by the IEM Cologne Major. That's contract volume, not money at risk. Polymarket became BLAST's official prediction partner for CS2 and Dota 2 events in 2026. More in esports prediction market volume.
Where to trade
- Polymarket — the most esports markets and an official BLAST partnership.
- Kalshi — deep CS2 and League of Legends markets.
- Crypto.com — selected esports contracts in its app.

Tips
Our esports editor Captain Quackquake and Professor Quackstradamus put these together: one knows the games, the other knows the markets.
- Know the format — Bo1, Bo3 and Bo5 change everything.
- Follow roster and patch news.
- Stick to top-tier events — low-tier matches carry higher integrity risks.
- Check forfeit and replay rules — see prediction market resolution.
- Use limit orders on smaller matches — liquidity can be thin.
