How to use the random name picker
- Type or paste your names or options, one per line.
- Choose how many to pick.
- Tick Allow repeats if the same item may be chosen more than once.
- Press Pick.
Use Copy result to share the winners.
How it picks
Each pick is made with your browser's secure random number generator. Without repeats, a picked name is removed before the next draw, like pulling names from a hat. With repeats, each pick draws from the full list again.
| Setting | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1 pick | One name, everyone equally likely |
| 3 picks, no repeats | Three different names |
| 3 picks, repeats | Three picks, a name may appear twice |
| More picks than names | Everyone is picked once |
Good uses
- Raffles and giveaways among friends or a club.
- Who goes first in a game, or who pays for coffee.
- Choosing between options, like which restaurant or which film.
- Classroom or team picks, for fair turns.
A friendly note
A random picker is a fair way to share chances, and it is just for fun. It is not a prediction of luck. If you want to explore the lore around charms and rituals, read lucky charms and symbols and gamblers' rituals.
